As part of our ongoing work with Mermaid Quay in Cardiff Bay, we were briefed on promoting the retail and leisure destination as the pawfect place to visit with your dog.

What we did

We designed a visual identity and applied it to a range of materials which were used by Mermaid Quay to help promote its dog friendly status. These materials included:

  • Window stickers for tenants to display
  • Posters
  • Digital screen graphics
  • Website graphics
  • Social media graphics

We also took our jamjar dogs – Teddy and Beau – on a photoshoot at Mermaid Quay, capturing content of our four-legged friends at all the pooch-friendly places you can visit there. These photos were used on a dedicated web page and across a promotional campaign.

To help launch its dog friendly activity, we supported Mermaid Quay in organising and promoting a dog friendly event during May half term, which offered two days of family fun for families and their pets.

Promotional activity included:

  • Social media advertising
  • Media advertising
  • Media relations
  • Outdoor advertising

Client feedback

I wanted to further promote Mermaid Quay as a dog-friendly location and share that we have a fantastic line-up of venues that welcomes our visitors and their furry friends. Working with Jam Jar we created a comprehensive plan to help achieve this. They meticulously arranged a pre-campaign photoshoot within both our internal and external areas of dog-friendly locations on site, ensuring we were able to deliver a high-impact campaign with recognisable locations to maximise our visual impact across all media channels. They over saw our media, guaranteeing we reached the correct channels and viewers locally. In addition, to this they produced an eye-catching artwork with the ability to be used year-round. This has been utilised on the Mermaid Quay website, across our social channels, on digital screens and was used to produce a ‘We’re Dog Friendly’ sticker for tenants. This artwork has created a consistent message across our online channels and on-site. Thank you for your help on this campaign Jam Jar! – Becky Jones
