Celebration of Scouting Awards
BrandingGraphic Design & Print

Background

The Celebration of Scouting awards is an annual event, now in its third year, focussing on recognising and celebrating Scouting successes throughout Wales. It takes places at the ScoutsCymru Annual General Meeting (AGM) which, this year, took place in Llandrindod Wells.

The Brief

As part of our ongoing work with ScoutsCymru to improve internal and external communications, we were briefed with creating a new brand for the awards to enhance their credibility and encourage more entries.

What We Did

Logo Identity

We developed a unique and fresh identity for the awards, which included the introduction of a logo to aid recognition moving forward.

Branding devices

Designed around the Scouts organisation’s national brand guideline colours, we decided to use five colours to work with the red of ScoutsCymru in order to reflect the diversity of scouting. The shapes we created were reflective of the different paths that the skills learned at Scouts can lead to later in life. The shapes are made up from the curvatures used in the national Scouts and ScoutsCymru logo symbols.

Lanyards, certificates and roller banners

We used the brand device to create a consistent look and feel across all the materials we designed for these assets.

Presentation Screen

Used at the event to display as a stage background, we designed a master template on PowerPoint that enabled the event organisers to edit and create their own slides for announcements.

Social media graphics

To complement the new look, we created a suite of assets to promote the awards, including social graphics and website banners. As there were several colours, we chose to use one primary colour for the backgrounds of social posts in order to create consistency and strengthen the brand identity through their digital channels.
