#10for10 | Explainer Animations

We continue our #10for10 campaign as part of our tenth anniversary celebrations with our top 10 favourite explainer animations created over the last decade.

With studies showing that the human brain processes visual information about 60,000 times faster than plain text, explainer animations are a great way of communicating complex messages or introducing new things.

1. Life Sciences Hub Wales

With the vision of making Wales the place of choice for health, care and wellbeing innovation, Life Sciences Hub Wales commissioned us to create an animation to explain how it can support a wide range of organisations with its support services and programmes.

2. Newport City Council

To help launch its Climate Change Plan, Newport City Council commissioned us to create an explainer animation which communicated why the plan was important and what it sets out to achieve.

3. National Forest for Wales

As part of our work with Welsh Government where we developed the brand for the National Forest for Wales, we created an explainer animation to help communicate the importance and benefits of creating a network of woodland throughout Wales. Click here to find out more about this project.

4. Vale of Glamorgan Council

To support public consultations with residents about active travel in the Vale of Glamorgan, the Council commissioned us to create an animation to help explain what active travel is and why it was important for local people to have their say on its new Active Travel Network Map.

5. Community Pharmacy Wales

Community Pharmacy Wales (CPW) came to jamjar wanting to educate its audiences about the Discharge Medicine Review (DMR) service, which checks that patients receive the right medication from their GP after they come out of hospital. With three distinct audiences (the public, hospital staff and pharmacists), CPW wanted to ensure that it had the tools to help everyone who needs to know about the service truly understand it. We created a series of animations to help them do just that. Click here to find out more about this project.

6. Thrive Women’s Aid

In Wales, a National Training Framework on violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence dictates that if you work in the public service Ask & Act training is mandatory. To support Thrive Women’s Aid in delivering the training in its region, jamjar created an animation to help publicise the training and why it’s important. Click here to find out more about this project.

7. Somer Valley Rediscovered

Somer Valley Rediscovered is partnership project to better connect communities to their local greenspaces tackling both biodiversity loss and improving health and wellbeing. It helps people to ‘rediscover’ their local walks and sites, their heritage and natural environment and shows how that ‘rediscovery’ can influence positive change for communities and nature. As a new project, we were commissioned to create a logo identity for Somer Valley Rediscovered and a short explainer animation to bring to life what the project is about. Click here to find out more about this project.

8. Merthyr County Borough Council

To support the launch of Merthyr County Borough Council’s education strategy, we created an animation to help convey the strategy’s main aims of raising standards and raising aspirations in the borough.

9. AWEBB

To support AWEBB (Association of Wholesale Electrical Bulk Buyers) in the recruitment of members, we put together this handy animation to help explain why it’s beneficial for companies to be members.

10. Alcumus

Recognising that its clients needed even greater visibility of their supply chain compliance, beyond just health and safety, Alcumus approached jamjar to help support the launch of new product – SafePQQ. The brief included developing the SafePQQ brand, launch strategy and all supporting marketing collateral. We created an explainer animation to help communicate what SafePQQ is and how it benefits contractors and clients. Click here to find out more about this project.
