We’re delighted to welcome Abi Thomas to the jamjar team as our new Communications & Social Media Manager.
Abi joins us following five years leading communications and social media activity for Tata Steel UK, where she managed multi-channel campaigns, developed social media strategy and worked with stakeholders across the UK to tell stories that connected with employees, communities, policymakers and industry.
Her appointment comes as jamjar continues to grow its communications offering, supporting organisations across Wales and beyond with PR, social media, content creation and strategic communications.
Abi brings an impressive mix of corporate communications, journalism and content creation experience. During her time at Tata Steel UK she helped grow the organisation’s LinkedIn audience by more than 15,000 followers, produced and hosted the award-winning Women of Steel podcast, led paid social campaigns, worked closely with national media and delivered communications during one of the company’s biggest periods of transformation.
With a BA in Journalism, Media & Culture from Cardiff University, alongside experience writing for OK! Magazine and Santes Dwynwen Magazine, Abi combines a journalist’s instinct for finding stories with strategic communications expertise. She also co-hosts a podcast celebrating Welsh culture and is currently working towards Chartered PR Practitioner status with the CIPR.
Lyndsey Jenkins, Managing Director at jamjar, said:
At jamjar, we’ve always believed that great communications start by understanding what’s inside an organisation. The people. The purpose. The stories worth telling. It’s about taking the time to understand what makes every organisation unique before we tell its story.
From the moment we met Abi, it was clear she shares that approach. She brings a fantastic combination of strategic thinking, creativity and storytelling, alongside experience working with major brands and complex organisations. As demand for our communications and social media services continues to grow, she’ll play an important role in helping our clients uncover what makes them different and communicate it in ways that genuinely connect with people.
Abi will work across jamjar’s growing portfolio of clients, supporting integrated communications campaigns, media relations, social media strategy, content creation, copywriting and campaign delivery.

I’m excited to be joining jamjar at such an exciting time for the agency. From my very first conversations with the team, it felt like the right fit. Over the past 14 years, jamjar has built a fantastic reputation for helping organisations tell their stories with creativity, honesty and purpose, and I’m looking forward to being part of that. I’m excited to work alongside such an experienced team and support clients across Wales and beyond with strategic communications that make a genuine difference.
Abi’s appointment follows continued growth for the agency and reinforces jamjar’s commitment to investing in experienced communications professionals who can deliver creative thinking backed by strategic insight.
